PRODUCTS: Elestrin™

Elestrin™ estradiol gel is prescribed for the treatment of moderate to severe hot flashes (vasomotor symptoms) associated with menopause. Elestrin™ was approved by the FDA in December 2006. Antares formulated Elestrin and worked with our development partner BioSante Pharmaceuticals to seek approval. The lowest dose of Elestrin™ was approved thereby making it 50% lower than the next lowest dose currently available on the market. Bradley Pharmaceuticals launched Elestrin in the U.S. in June 2007. Antares has royalty and milestone sharing rights in the US while retaining the exclusive rights to market our estrdiol gel in other parts of the world.

Elestrin™ is a fast drying formulation of bio-identical estradiol, the same estrogen naturally produced in women. It is absorbed through the skin after topical application to the upper arm and delivers estradiol to the bloodstream in a 24 hour sustained release manner. Elestrin™ is administered via a metered dose applicator allowing for precise delivery of each dose.
