PRODUCTS: Female Testosterone ATD™ Gel

Female Testosterone ATD™ Gel is a gel formulation of bioidentical testosterone used in the treatment of FSD (female sexual dysfunction). Through our development partner, BioSante Pharmaceuticals, a successful Phase II study was completed and the pivotal Phase III studies have been initiated. BioSante currently has the rights to market the product, they currently called Libi-Gel®, in the US and elsewhere while Antares has royalty and milestone sharing rights in the US and exclusive marketing rights in Europe and elsewhere.

This gel formulation is designed to be absorbed quickly through the skin after application to the upper arm and delivered systemically over a 24 hour period. Even though testosterone is known as a male hormone it is also present in women and its deficiency has been found to decrease libido or sex drive. According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, 43 percent of American women experience some degree of impaired sexual function.
