PRODUCTS: LibiGel® Testosterone ATD™ Gel for Women

Testosterone ATD™ Gel is in development to treat women who suffer from female sexual dysfunction (FSD). Even though testosterone is known as a male hormone it is also present in women and its deficiency has been found to decrease sex drive. According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, 43 percent of American women experience some degree of impaired sexual function.

Testosterone ATD™ Gel is designed to be absorbed quickly through the skin after application to the upper arm and delivered systemically over a 24 hour period. Our development partner, BioSante Pharmaceuticals, has completed a Phase II study in which Testosterone ATD™ Gel significantly increased the number of satisfying sexual events by 238% versus baseline (p<0.0001); this increase also was significant versus placebo (p<0.05). BioSante is conducting pivotal Phase III studies and expects to be able to submit an NDA in 2011.

Antares has licensed marketing rights for Testosterone ATD™ Gel in North America and other territories to BioSante, which they have branded as LibiGel®. Antares has royalty and milestone sharing rights in North America and other territories licensed to BioSante. Antares has exclusive marketing rights for Testosterone ATD™ Gel in Europe and elsewhere.
