Director of Marketing

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is the Senior Product Director for the Antares Marketing team, located at the corporate headquarters in Ewing, NJ. This position is responsible for creating and enabling the Marketing strategies in order to maximize growth and profitability goals for Antares. The Director of Marketing will work cross-functionally with Sales, Managed Markets, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Legal in order to ensure alignment of all strategies and tactics.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and deliver annual prescription forecast
  • Lead cross-functional brand strategic & tactical plan development, including brand objectives, budget requirements and key performance metrics for measuring success
  • Define vision, strategies and tactics.
  • Direct development of company Marketing plan and supporting Sales activities for existing and future products, including assessment of potential markets
  • Oversees market analysis, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs
  • Project management for all marketing tactics/programs, including agency management, marketing material development and inventory management, internal review process, field training and rollout
  • Work with V.P. of Marketing to ensure cross-functional alignment of Marketing, Sales, Sales Operations, Managed Markets, and Medical Affairs in key planning, implementation, and tracking activity
  • Cross-functional lead for development and execution of internal communications, POA objectives, status updates on brand performance and overall brand goal attainment
  • Conduct and manage primary & secondary Market Research projects
  • Provide Marketing insight and direction to optimize new product launches
  • Interprets and translates scientific data into commercial implications
  • Marketing budget management, including budget development, PO and invoice process management, reconciliation, and quarterly updates with internal finance partners
  • Scientific communication, publication planning, and medical education
  • Manage pre-market brand development, message and claims development, brand name development, market research, customer segmentation analyses, and KOL mapping
  • Define, establish, and support an appropriate clinical position for pre-commercial brands
  • Support ad hoc requests, including budgetary, forecasting, Board of Directors presentations, and internal communications

CUSTOMERS OR CLIENTS:

  • The primary customer for this position is the field sales team. This includes representatives, managers, and the V.P. of Sales
  • Additional internal customers and clients include the Executive Leadership Team, Medical, Legal, and Regulatory review committee, as well as the Finance team
  • External Customers: Thought leaders and prescribers as defined by target customer universe

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS (degree, license, certification):

  • Bachelor's Degree required; MBA a plus.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 10 years pharmaceutical marketing experience.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Both brand and generic marketing experience a plus
  • Product launch experience a plus
  • Understanding of the injectable markets a plus
  • Understanding of marketing hub services and co-pay assistant programs a plus
  • Strong working relationships with KOLs, peer-reviewed journal editors and publishers, and professional medical society leadership
  • Knowledge of budgeting and P&L development
  • Knowledge of brand and market forecasting
  • Knowledge of technology and print and digital communication channels
  • Experience and knowledge of the specialty medicine marketplace
  • Strong leadership experience/traits and leading cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to motivate teams and drive business and achieve company and brand objectives
  • Self-starter with strong decision-making capabilities and creative problem solving skills
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, small, entrepreneurial company environment, where you will roll up your sleeves and “get your hands dirty”
