Manager, Maintenance and Facilities 

The Manager of Maintenance and Facilities will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems that support the general office area, controlled warehouse, and production spaces of the Minnesota production plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and calibration of production and testing equipment; oversee contractor services (i.e. HVAC, landscaping, janitorial, security, etc.); and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.


  • Plan, schedule, and oversee building, facility, and production equipment maintenance/repair and calibration
  • Facilitate the receiving and installation of new manufacturing and testing equipment by partnering with manufacturing, engineering, validation, and quality assurance
  • Manage capital projects for facility construction and renovation
  • Participate in vendor and departmental meetings to present on the progress of projects to all internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage and prepare cost center budget for space utilization, standard office furniture, capital and leasehold items, time and material maintenance, and equipment maintenance
  • Create and maintain vendor relationships to support building needs; manage ordering of parts, supplies, and equipment from appropriate vendors
  • Manage equipment files in accordance with Antares Pharma SOP’s for site audit readiness
  • Work with management to achieve maximum utilization of facility space
  • Interact with landlord on building integrity and maintenance issues
  • Evaluate and adjust energy expenditures, and drive efficiencies with facility systems, appliances, and fixtures to reduce energy output
  • Lead security related initiatives for Minnesota production plant to ensure a safe and secure working environment
  • Manage all aspects of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) training, including reporting, tracking, maintaining, developing, and providing training to the personnel working in the Minnesota location(s)
  • Create, develop and implement EH&S policies, practices, and programs at the site level Provide Safety Training to ensure that appropriate personnel receive required training, including but not limited to: Confined Space, Power Truck, Ergonomics
  • Oversee the tracking and monitoring of EH&S performance metrics, and manage all EH&S reporting
  • Oversee EH&S-related investigations and root cause analyses (RCAs)
  • Support sites during audits from client, corporate, EH&S staff, including agencies such as OSHA, fire/building departments, health inspectors, air quality inspectors, and insurance representatives
  • Perform other related duties as needs arise

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS (degree, license, certification):

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management of an Engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) preferred
  • Licenses and Certifications applicable to job functions preferred


  • 8+ years of experience working in a facilities or maintenance capacity in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry
  • 2+ years of experience managing a team in a production environment, preferably in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry
  • 1+ years of experience managing capital projects for facility construction, expansion or renovation, preferred


  • Knowledge of GMP, OSHA, ISO, and other applicable international regulations, standards, Directives and Guidance preferred
  • Prior EH&S management experience is preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Able to work independently, as well as in a team environment
  • Customer focused and service-oriented
  • Ability to educate stakeholders, customers, and management
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with participation in audits or inspections
